WHY A TIMELINE?

The timeline  offers answers to a number of questions:

1. How and why I became connected to Botswana, Africa.

2. Also as to why the  Anglican Diocese of Botswana and Foundation's Think Tank Thuto program:

In 2006, Think Tank Thuto was organized to facilitate planning of an Anglican Highschool in Francistown, Botswana, Africa.

However...

Around July 12, 2007, Balizi Gaolatlhe, Minister of Finance and Development - on behalf of Kgosi (Chief) Itekeng Mathangwane, Headsman Batisani Moeti, and the Kgosis of Tonota North and the Village Development Council of Mathangwane Village - offered land for development by the Anglican Diocese.

The goal changed from that of a high school in Francistown to a boarding school to be built in Mathangwane.  Even if the tribal land was been donated it took a number of years to meet Marapong Landboard's strict criteria. It was Michel Cavro's CGI (2011 - 2012) that communicated the Diocese' Vision for their International School in Mathangwane, Botswana, Africa: A 600 student pre-k to secondary boarding school as the heart and driving force of an eco-agricultural village.

Because other projects - business, conservation and health programs - for both the school and development of Mathangwane was needed, I had to reorganize Think Tank Thuto. A lot of people were getting confused as to what and who Think Tank Thuto was. Is this about a school? Is Think Tank Thuto in Botswana or in the U.S.? Is this about R&D as to how the pillars of sustainable development will affect future  developments in the village of Mathangwane.

Early 2012, to communicate more clearly to all stakeholders,  THUTO | the foundation (change of name) announced that Think Tank Thuto will remain as an international education committee focused on defining 21C Education for SADC’s (Botswana's) rural villages. i.e Mathangwane would be the first location with the Anglican Diocese possibly building another campus in Palapye down the road. The acronym TAISBA [The Anglican International Schools of Botswana, Africa ] was introduced by the foundation. I also announced that the foundation (in collaboration with the Anglican Diocese) will continue development of The Children of Botswana Photography Collection (An education fund for Mathangwane (Botswana's) disadvantage children; and continue development of the Morero Initiative i.e. ARUP Engineering's Template of Development for Eco-Villages.  ~ Annelize Bester | THUTO
