SCHOOLS' HEALTH CLINICS & PREVENTATIVE PROGRAMS

DEVELOPMENT OF

At the end of 2008 planning started for efficient and sustainable school based health clinics for TAISBA's future campuses.

The goal is to provide primary health care, to teach students prevention and to train them to teach others basic healthcare tools so they may serve their communities in the future.

THANK-YOU!

Thank-you to U.S.C. KECK School of Medicine faculty, Dr. Alex Sanchez for guiding us in this direction: School based clinics and Preventative Health Programs

A special thank-you to Jessica Inga and Mma Gosego Nthume, HIV/AIDS Co-ordinator for the Botswana Anglican Diocese, who helped realize this initiative in Botswana.

Thank-you to the UCLA Master of Public Health students who helped create the beginning for the schools' future clinics: Dr. Claudia Emami, Angela Coron, Alicia Lara, and Marina Groysman.

And thank-you to Annie and Aram Der Avedissian for "Mmelegisi."

"Mmelegisi" or "Life by Midwife" is one possible program that was suggested for Mathangwane, Botswana.
